Salinas Farmers Market grows in popularity

SALINAS — Regular crowds of at least 3,000 have attended the weekly Salinas Farmers Market since its move to Main Street earlier this year.

The Saturday market has become a small community event, drawing hundreds of people within the first few minutes of the opening hour, with lines forming early at the most popular of the 70 vendors present.

Salinas Farmers Market moving to new location in Oldtown

SALINAS, Calif. —

The Salinas Farmers Market has officially outgrown its current location in Oldtown.

This Saturday, the market will be at its new home on the 300 block of Main Street, (on the same block as the old Dick Bruhn and Rabobank buildings, both under construction as they transform into new housing, shops, and a new restaurant.) Joel Panzer, the vice president of the Oldtown Salinas Foundation says the move was due to the current market finally outgrowing its current footprint on West Gabilan Street.
